Pronunciation
Learning Spanish is not just about grammar, vocabulary and comprehension. It’s vital to practice speaking and pronouncing. Even speaking and pronouncing are different. Pronunciation is not as interactive. I focus on pronouncing the words and return later to study the grammar and vocabulary.
Here are a few words/phrases that were challenging to pronounce:
inundábamos el mundo y lo destrozábamos innumerables derrochando casi 150.000 millones de dólares Incluso puedes sacar ese polvoriento globo terráqueo de tu repisa para darte ideas cuántos vuelos pueden aterrizar Estar apretujado en una multitud dejemos de atiborrarnos de viajes baratos
The double “rr” sound continues to be a challenge but that’s common. My conversation teacher shared a video with me that had some “great” advice. Use a Scottish accent to say “Scotland is GREAT!”. Roll the “R” in “GREAT”. It works!
I read this article out loud twice and I noticed an improvement. When I speak Spanish a lot I can feel different muscles further back in my mouth getting a workout. Apparently that’s common.
Message
There was a really good message in the article. Excessive tourism hurts the environment. I agree.
